Arrive at E. Venizelos International Airport in Athens and take a 20 minute cab ride to the port at Rafina where you can board a ferry for the island of Andros. A two-hour ferry ride and you will arrive in the port of Gavrio. In the summer, you can take a Flying Dolphin and arrive in half the time.
On arrival, you will note the famed Cycladic landscape- blue Aegean sea, white or pebbled beaches, and steep cliffs. But unlike most islands in this group, in the gorges between the mountains you will see green and fertile valleys. And in the hottest months of summer, you will be cooled by the meltemi winds.
